Giles started his career away from the travel sector working with the market leading publisher Reed Elsevier plc, working on well known titles such as Asian Electricity and Middle East Electronics!
His first taste experience of the travel sector was with a niche business, ABC Travel Agents Ticket Wallets (remember the days when agents posted tickets to clients!!) providing agents with personalised travel wallets supported by advertising from clients such as Gatwick Express and Boots the Chemist.
Giles quickly moved on to create a new business, providing sales data to retail travel agents including the much publicised Gazetteer series, providing independent reviews of UK tour operator contracted hotels.
On leaving Reed, Giles moved into travel industry event management working on some leading travel industry events, ranging from private industry dinners for 30 through to awards evenings for 500 plus guests; Giles specialised in bringing creative cost effective sponsorship options to these events working in partnership with some of the leading UK travel brands.
Giles is a long time supporter of the travel industry charity, Just a Drop and founded the annual Just a Drop Charity Golf Day.
